Outdoorsman and women,
Thank you for your past interest in hunting and fishing with Otter
Creek Outfitters in South East Montana. We would like to share this
newsletter with you in regards to 2009 hunting and fishing
opportunities. We have offered quality hunts from the same hunting
camp for over 25 years and have a lot of references. We also have
had the privilege of sharing our camp with many outdoor shows and
magazines, which shows the quality of our operation. We offer
hunting trips for mule deer, antelope, elk, spring turkey, and the
best fly fishing in Montana, on the Big Horn River. We offer prairie
dog shooting in June and July on large prairie dog towns. We operate
out of comfortable lodge in Otter, hunting private land as well as
the Custer National Forest. Hunters can fly into Billings and rent
a car, or Sheridan Wy. We can include airport shuttle to Sheridan in
any of our hunting packages and we offer full service hunts.
If you are looking for a great hunt for 2009 or 2010 we have some
great opportunities. Here are a few things to keep in mind while
considering hunting with Otter Creek Outfitters. We now offer spring
Merriam turkey hunts. We have the true Merriam's turkey with the
white fan. The true species is getting hard to find. We offer
archery elk hunts and have taken many good bulls. It is a lottery
draw for rifle elk tags. We offer great mule deer and have a large
population of deer and great quality as you can see on our photo
gallery. We have excellent bow hunting for deer and antelope.
Archery deer is spot and stalk. Archery antelope is sitting on water
holes, decoying and spot and stalk. There is a two week window for a
rifle combo hunt for deer and antelope, and then the deer rut kicks
in for an unbelievable late season rifle hunt. Coyote calling or
coyote hunting along with other predators is also available.
Our fishing is
done on the famous Big Horn River. We have just finished the new
lodge in Ft. Smith, a beautiful log cabin lodge. The scenery is
breath taking and the fishing is in creditable. We offer trip from
the middle of Dec. to the middle of August. We fish from drift boats
and stop along the way and wade from shore. The river supports
around 5000 fish per mile of the best rainbow and brown trout waters
one can find. We offer fishing trip for the novice to the most
accomplished fly fisherman. We have fisherman come here from all
over the world to fish with us on the Big Horn River.
In summary we offer a large variety of hunting and fishing in
Montana. Most of the hunts are conducted from one camp and we use
4x4 to get around. Fishing is done from the new lodge in Ft. Smith.
We offer hunts from very physical to not physical at all. There is
no better time to plan a hunt or fishing trip than right now. Game
and fish populations are great, largely due to the people us, who
love to hunt and fish in the great outdoors.
